Creating Space for Teen Voices

BreatheINK Teaching Artists facilitated over 60 poetry and creative writing workshops in 18 schools during the 2023 Spring Semester. Charter, public, private, and juvenile detention schools hosted our workshops.

BreatheINK School Workshops reached over 1,600 students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County area in 2023. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can explore their creativity, build confidence, and connect with others.

At BreatheINK, we believe that the performing arts have the power to transform lives. 86% of students report a higher level of confidence when writing poetry after participating after participating in BreatheINK workshops.
